Lesson Objectives:

  • Follow along and pay attention to the reader as they read You Share Genes with Me, a 23andMe book (Psychomotor).
  • After reading the story, give us a definition of what genes are (Cognitive).
  • Appreciate the role that genes play in their life (Affective).
  • Give examples of animals that humans share genes with (Cognitive)

Students will better understand the term “genes” after reading the story, “You Share Genes with Me,” and asking the questions provided in this NGSS standards-based lesson plan.
