Abstract

An activity that uses a real family’s genotype data for lactose intolerance to practice applications of Punnett Squares and the Hardy-Weinberg equation.

Students will be able to:

  • Predict the phenotypic and genotypic probability that a couple’s offspring will experience lactose intolerance.
  • Determine genotype frequency at marker rs4988235 for different populations.
